Born in Gijon, Spain. Ponticu is a sculptor and painter with quite a distinguished artistic trajectory. His work has been part of important exhibits such as Museo Naval (Madrid), The Albuquerque Museum (New Mexico) and the Contemporary Sculpture Center in Tokyo (Japan).

One of his better known works is his “Trees of Steel” exhibit. Through this exhibit Ponticu says that “this work is a compromise with our ecosystem” and hopes that through it the public will gain awareness about the importance of the conservation of natural resources.
